Written Charts
Signature Music Services caters mainly for the professional cabaret artist performing on cruise liners, or in any live music venue. We can supply quality musical arrangements, from a simple 3-part keyboard / bass / drums set-up, to the 6-piece, 8-piece or 10-piece charts needed for some ships.
Many new artistes, who have been used to working with the typical "social club" format of a keyboard player and drummer, or with backing tracks, often find the prospect of having to work with a large band daunting, together with the expense of having to have new arrangements specially written. At Signature, we can offer advice on working with a band for the first time, how to count in, rehearsing, etc.
Signature Music Services can supply you with arrangements custom-written to your own requirements, in your key, working from either your existing backing tracks or the original recordings. There are also many "off-the-shelf" arrangements available for the more popular songs, which can greatly reduce the initial outlay when getting started.
All Signature arrangements are supplied on top quality paper. Most of the catalogue numbers are original hand-written charts, while the more recent additions are computer-generated parts. If a chart is needed at short notice, it can be emailed as a pdf folder. The charts are clearly written with the possibilities and limitations of the particular ensemble in mind. Any important string or brass lines, etc, are cued onto the keyboards part, so that the arrangements will always work even without any front-line instruments. Feedback coming from musicians who have played Signature charts has always been very complimentary.
Rehearsal tracks are available for all Signature charts.
Signature is essentially a one-man business, and all charts are written by Mark Dawson, who is an experienced Musical Director. No work is "farmed-out" to other people. This may mean that you may have to wait a little longer, especially at busy times, but the standard of work will be consistent.
